In my 50’s I heard about U Fit Studio and actually my husband joined because he had stopped smoking but that led to him putting on some weight. Then my daughter joined, and I thought, I can do this too!
To start with I was just pleased to be getting stronger and started to lose some weight, but then got stuck. My coach and I looked at my food, and discovered I was eating more than I realised…
Over time I've gone from a size 12/14 to a size 8. I hadn’t worn a bikini since my twenties, but in March 2022 we went away, and I wore a bikini for the first time since my twenties, and you know what, I felt so confident!
These days I walk an hour every day. I never think ‘I don’t want to do it’. I need to do it. If I get everything in for myself, then I can focus on my family and work for the rest of the day. It’s just a mindset.
I’m 65 this year and for my birthday I’ve told my husband I want to do an activity holiday, maybe Costa Rica, hiking and doing lots of active things together.
In my work I see that many 50 year olds struggle physically. They can’t walk well, have knees hurting, back hurting. Yet I run after my two and a half year old grandson but never feel tired. I love what I’m doing.
